What this will not tell you.
All of this appears inside the software too, printed on its own sheet in every export. You should be suspicious of breeding tools that don't publish their limits.
It reports, it doesn't forecast
These are measured results from animals already processed. They describe what happened. Progeny vary with nutrition, season and management, and last year's result is not a promise about next year's.
One record proves little
A single good carcass is weak evidence about any sire. The by-sire table is worth reading once a bull has numbers behind him, not before. We show the count alongside the average for exactly that reason.
It is not a pedigree tool
No coefficient of inbreeding, no coancestry. Relatedness screening reaches only as far as the sire recorded against each female. If you need true pedigree maths you need MateSel through your breed society — this complements it rather than replacing it.
It doesn't weight EBV accuracy
A high figure on a young unproven sire is treated the same as a well-proven one. Read accuracy off your own catalogue before committing straws.
Feed is recorded, not predicted
You can log what a mob was fed so it can be read back against how they graded. We do not forecast what a ration will do to marbling, because that needs data that doesn't exist yet. When it does, we'll build it.
It doesn't decide anything
The output is evidence for you or your consultant to weigh. The decision, and the responsibility for it, stays with the breeder.
